Lifeguards Bring Disabled on Board

On Tuesday 2 February we organised a 'day at the beach' for some of the clients in Community Living.  Two lifeguards showed the group safety equipment adn first aid procedures.  Afterwards, those who were brave went for a spin in the IRB.

What a day!  Thanks for taking part.

Michael, Margaret and John were invited to watch the Warriors practice . . .

Michael Green, Margaret Alden and John Penman were lucky enough to watch the Warriors practice AND get a photo with them.

Cool!

16 Dec 2009 - IRIS Community Living Christmas Party!

What a fantastic day and what a way to end the year! We were very privileged to have one of New Zealand’s most famous bands – ARDIJAH – play at the IRIS Community Living Christmas Party! They were incredible.

Ardijah started in an Otara garage in 1979 and have been a prominent part of the New Zealand music scene for 20 years, recently opening for music legends George Benson and Billy Ocean. Ardijah made time in their busy Christmas schedule to perform and play some of their most famous songs  (check out their website at www.ardijah.co.nz).

Everyone had a brilliant day. A huge thanks to all the bands members, Ngaku for organising the band, people who cooked and provided the amazing food and those who helped out on the day with transport, support, cleaning and dancing!

A great day was had by all! Merry Christmas.
