Our sports and mobility therapists provide specific exercises to assist with health and fitness. We provide a service which assists people to regain or maintain their independence through increased mobility and functional capacity.
Who do we serve?
- People with disabilities
- Developing after-school programmes for school age children
- Self referrals, GP referrals, Physiotherapy referrals
Individual programmes and group classes
- We provide individualised classes including aerobic and cardiovascular based exercise, resistance and strength training – both passive and active, core and abdominal strengthening, breathing and relaxation.
- Team sports – soccer, basketball, volleyball, hockey and much more. Benefits include fun, co-operation, communication and fair play. Group sessions are $15 per person.
- Clients who require minimal supervision from therapists are welcome to use our gym facilities for just $25 per week.
Boccia (target game similar to lawn bowls)
Boccia can help develop co-operation, improve listening and communication skills.
- This is held at the IRIS Boccia Club – Rocky Nook Bowling Club, Rocky Nook Avenue; Morningside.
- Everyone is welcome to come along and try social Boccia on Thursdays, 10:00am - 11:00am. Advanced Boccia on Thursdays, 11:00am - 12:00pm
- Price is $15 per session.

2010 Autumn / Winter Timetable
IRIS Rehabilitation has a new Summer Timetable that includes a range of group sessions and time available for individual sessions with either our Sports Therapist or Physiotherapist. The group sessions include Tai Chi, Strength and Movement, Swimming, Relaxation, Outdoor Exercise, Boccia and High Level Balance .
Swimming & Aquatics Therapy
- Individual swimming, aquatic and water walking sessions especially tailored to meet required needs, held in local public swimming pools. The price is $15 per session.
At Home Exercise Programmes
- For those whom it is impractical to attend on-site sessions we are able to devise and instruct individualised programmes in the comfort of your own home.
Stace Hardley - Sports Therapist
Stace has a Bachelor of Sport (Management) and has studied adaptive sports, exercise prescription, physiology and coaching. He works with people who have complex physical disabilities. Together with each client, Stace develops individual goals and then in one-on-one or group sessions, encourages, challenges and stretches each client to achieve these goals.

$45 for a One on One Session with our Sports Therapist
Purchase a 12 Session Concession Card for $450 and recieve 2 FREE sessions.
Please be aware a $10 fee is charged for clients who do not notify us that they are unable to attend one on one sessions.
